Not much to report lately, just a small assortment from MB from this week and two weeks ago. Been bouncing around from sea world to the inlet. Mostly fishing from Poverty Island, you know, the rocks along Quivera from which you get to watch the entire world going out for tuna and yellowtail, while reeling in wads of kelp and the occasional spotty.

Still, it was nice to have the bonito briefly blitz around high tide again. Reeled in three today before they disappeared. Bait along the rocks was very thick today, with a few bones slamming topwater just 5 feet off the rocks.

While casting for bones, this croaker hit my squid line, taking precious minutes away from the bone blitz.

Another behemoth, had to get the pole gaff out for this one.

And to wrap it up, this guy came in with a pile of kelp.

Dude...that is a gnarly looking sand bass. Nice work!

Haven't caught a bone yet this year...need to get on that soon

Holy crap, i'm dying laughing over here.  "Poverty Island" it is!    ;D

So did you grab the pus by the nose or shake him off with the pliers?

Well done on the bonito.  I hope you kept them for my freezer if you didn't eat them.  Sharks and Lobster love dem bones.   8)
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Thanks for the Bonito Todd.  Hopefully I'll put that to good use here soon.  8)
