Sorry I was so late getting this up, but be sure to vote on the October Contest if it hasn't closed by now.  The November Contest will be a month long Contest for the biggest shoreline caught fish from Southern California. (I will expand this if we get more people from the West or even East coast participating)

The Rules will be simple...

•Post up a fish report in the appropriate forum but must be a land based caught fish. No Boats, PFD's, Docks, Jetties or Piers.  Your feet have to be on terra firma.
•Fish must be measured with a tape measure of some sort along with your call of the length.  (Over the TOP of a ray from wingtip to wingtip or from nose to tip of tail on a shark or other fish)
•Try and keep those tapes taut.  If not, your call on length will be judged from the appropriate picture containing the tape.
•I will select some of the better pics or fish for a vote on December 1st.
•I will shuffle the top five (5) pictures as reports come in to get the crème of the crop photos out there for you to judge.
•Winner will be by vote on a poll that will be added on December 1st.

I will be putting together a special prize pack for this which will include a 3D printed tape measure by Chad, A P-Soul shirt (limited to sizes on hand) and a rod and reel from EricH.  I will see if I could get anything else added, but it will be a much more rewarding prize package.

Good luck and keep checking back!  Get out there fishing!

So the winner will still be picked by vote, not necessarily by the longest measurement?

Yep.  If someone catches a 60" wide bat ray, that would totally trump a 60" Leopard Shark.  The length will keep the biggest of each species at the top of the list.  That way you get to vote on the biggest of version of each critter we caught.  8)

At least that is what I think should happen.

When the shark action heats up, I'll do another contest that is species specific and then there is no vote, but the biggest just wins.
