Well work has sucked balls the past few weeks and I have not exactly been lighting the water on fire with my catches.  It was Tuesday and Steve and I decided on a spot we have not hit in a while in the bay.  Steve forgot his gear at home so had to make the trip back north before heading back down.  He should have had his stuff as in the first hour, I had 4 bats and had a Seat Turtle swimming in front of me!  So cool!

Nothing was big, but the ranged from 29" to mid 40's.

They did progressively get bigger at first.

I was hurting early and kept texting Steve.  He wasn't as happy as he was stuck in traffic!  lol

This one did something funny.  I tried to snap a head shot and on my second attempt, he curled his lip over his forehead!

Steve finally got there and the bay quieted down for about 30 minutes.  We heard a honk and saw Where'sMyBeer and (H/R)ammer drive by heading to another location.  I soon got a text with a bet attached about the most fish wins a sixer.  He had 4 on the beach at the time and so did I so we were on like Donkey Kong.  Steve bowed out as he was afraid Dave would pay up in Keystone Light or something.

It was at this time we were witnessing the most incredible sunset!  It kept getting better and better!  I'd show you the pics, but that means I'd give up my Hot spot!  lol
I hooked up during this sunset and gave SCR its warranted props!

This fish started an epic run and made Steve shake his head.  Actually, Steve had some great runs, but they dropped it by the time he engaged the reel!

I was either catching bats...

and minutes later...

Or I would be reeling in baits like this...  Crushed Heads!

There was a few times Steve would say "Before you put that bait on, grab your other rod... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!"  Thanks buddy!

After another, Steve had about enough... as well as Dave for I texted him after every fish.  LOL

Steve decides to book end me, but that didn't help as I was back at it!  I seriously lost a bunch of fish, but I still managed to keep them sliding up!

My best day ever was 12 or 14 I think... I know it was at least a dozen, but my memory has faded over the last 20 years.  I ended up with 11 and lost at least 9 more... not to mention all the bites that I missed because they dropped it.

Steve sat quietly and enjoyed the fire.  He did not play sand hand at all and my back and arm were killing me.  Steve just said I deserved it.  :o ;D

I ended the evening with 11 bats... not to shabby as it was constant action.  Long Bomb casts and squid and macks were getting hit equally!

Well, it was a great night and I am sore as hell right now.  Work still sucked today, but it wasn't as bad knowing I had quite the evening session!

Until Next Tide!!!

"Going old school tonight. I'll leave the long rod home."

Bad decision. It's a long rod spot if ever there was one.

Had a great evening overall despite Tom putting on a clinic with all his fish. He even got a rare concession regarding the perceived size of the rays. Facts were facts.

Still didn't see anything hit the sand that needed me to land it for you.

Been awhile since you got a "Stupid Tom."

See you next time.

Haha ... the texts were hilarious!

"lost 2 in a row before getting a high 40's..."
"Had a triple header but Steve farmed his ..."
"Beached another, losing count ... think its at least 8 ..."
"Steve is still waiting for his first ..."
"You should hear the disdain in Steve's voice ..."
"Steve stopped talking to me ........."

Too funny  ;D ;D ;D

Paul and I landed 7 and missed another handful. All were small except one in the 40's.

Went back out tonight at it was stupid wide open at your spot again. Big fouggers!!! Landed 6 for 11 rips with 3 pushing 50" in about an hour and a half.
