Sorry Joe it wasn't exotic. Mac chunk. I had a the live croaker on my heavy rod to the south as the "go big or go home" setup and a squish setup to the north.
Ramone was a bit farther north of me and all the action was north of central.

My shoulder is killing me today a a big abrasion on my left hand from the rod butt digging in. This was on my Cabelas Saltstriker spinning rig that replaced the one on the bottom of mission bay.

Guess it can catch a big fish. ;)

He certainly deserved it. Twas awesome watching him run up and down The beach chasing after it...Then that first glimpse of the tail...awesome. Jim has bin putting in alot of work and it finally paid off.

Big kudos go to Ramon going above and beyond playing sand hand.

Still sinking in that seven is only second to Ramon's 108.5 as the biggest on the charts. It is far and away the largest fish I have caught of anything.

The whole time I was remembering what some have said how 7s don't put up much of a fight. ;)

Jim

She was as wide as a surfboard.
