I should have called it casino night... AGAIN with triple 7's for the third trip in a row, but I'm still in fossil mode.

Steve and I met up with Ray and Starfish to do a little surf session.  I didn't get out until late, but it didn't matter one bit.

Ray's bass rod was on fire!

The smallest bass was about 3 pounds and all went up to 5+ pounds!

I didn't take pics of all his bass, but Ray had the right gear and bait for them.

I get the bite next that only comes from a Seven gill and knew it the second I grabbed the rod.
Number one on the beach!  74.5" of mean MALE.  Claspers were ready for pleasure, so that means momma was not too far away!

Steve then gets slammed and we were all sure it was a shark, but somehow turned into this toad Calico!  LOL, you should have seen how hard this bass bit Steve's line!

Finally, Steve wasn't going to get left out of the action so had to get a Sevengill of his own.  74.5" and a male also....  Had us wondering if the same shark came back for seconds?  After looking at the picture, they are totally different sharks.
The special note was a few seconds before I had a bite, but the bait came back surgical.  Notice Steve's bait, the shark just inhaled it without biting into it so if it got away, we would have been scratching our heads if he had one or it just bumped his line.

I walked over to start talking to Ray and Starfish  :) when the bass rod goes off and Giovanna gets her shark fight on!  We were expecting a bass, but Giovanna stole the show with the biggest of the night!  76"

Three on the sand once again!

It ended when Steve hooks what is definitely a bat ray and a long fight ensued.  It fought a lot bigger than what it was, but still a mid 40 inch model.

That was it.  We packed it up at midnight all being successful and three more sharks to add to the growing list!

Great fishing with you guys and it was nice catching grinners on the heels of the SNBF-IX!   ;D

You can't catch them from your computer chair.

We didn't find it, just poached it.

That is a great pic of Giovanna with the shark.

Funny that the bass hit harder than the shark, but nothing came close to the screaming run on that bat.
