Inspired by Reid's epic report, and the fact that it has been 2 weeks since they stocked, I just knew it was going to be hot action at Wohlford.

Truth be told, I was too hungover to deal with the surf.

Either way, I hit the lake in the dark and the fog. Kind of eerie.

I started off trying for crappie where I see the crappie guys get them now and again. Soaked a worm for trout just in case. Gave it an hour. No love.

Decided to try a new area of the lake I've never fished before.

It started off slow. I got a barely detectable bite and reeled in a 6" bass. On the board.

Next up was the smallest trout I've seen at this lake. Maybe 3/4 pound. Still, it was a trout.

Missed a decent bite and then got another. Wouldn't you know it, they were the last 2 baits I could get out of that color powerbait. Obviously the hot color. My go to combo sat untouched, as did the nightcrawlers.

Fooled around with different combos and found another one that worked. Well, at least it got bit twice.

Ended up staying til 1, getting a trout here and there, when I got my limit. The nicer fish were 2-3 pounders and the biggest probably 4.

Not a bad day after all. Maybe the forecast will be wrong and I can try the surf tomorrow.

I would bow to you having the "Trout" lead, but I'm not done yet! All I need is a double limit or two in 2 days and I gotcha! lol

Nicely done Steve.  When I first trout fished out here, it was for DFG's all about 3/4 to 1 pound with Dave.  I hated trout fishing, but catching them 2-4 pounds is WAY much more fun!

Nicely done on the bass too.   ;)
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Hey Reid, it was my first ever trout limit. I usually get just a couple, but I don't usually stay as long either.
