New PB 3/19

The initial plan was to hit Ventura and play w/ some 7s but the gf got here a lil late so decided to pull on some local cats instead.

Arrived at dark and began chopping up some fresh maks for the recently built chum tube.



That was first to hit the water, then began rigging up the gf's rod with a mack chunk.

She casted just outside the chum tube which I then did as well.

About 20 minutes later she got picked up by a nice one which ultimately popped off.

Some time passed then I get picked up. Got some good runs and began walking him over to the launch ramp. Slid this one up weighing in at 13.4lbs





That was it for the night, we only stayed for a couple hours.

The water temp is up which is good.

Im off the hot dogs now, the maks produced and im certain that the bigger ones are more likely to take these over the dogs. Theres some kitties in here to 30lbs that I know of, maybe some bigger. That is the goal right now. Just a matter of time

Glad you ditched the hot dogs. Cats are like sharks they like fresh cut bait over anything. They are drawn to blood so that is why chicken liver is money at times.

Now focus on the places you can fish and find other cat friendly element, structure, inlets, snags etc.

Congrats on that new PB. Cats are my first love but work load and hours I can fish keep me out of the lakes.
