Damn near nobody had squid. Ended up getting a 3 lb box at Zion but all the other regular sources had nothing.

May have to get some IQF sardines at 99 the next go around. 5lb box for $9

Doing a short scouting/recon mission tonight so I'm packing light.

Yeah the blue boxes have been hard to find, such a shame! What will I do for wiggles when Summer comes?

Squid shortage.  Restaurants are even taking calamari off their menus.  Stuff in bait shops are 2 year old frozen stuff.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Just use maks

I will if they look fresh. I get the freshest fish in the store. Found some nice little bonita last trip out. Sometimes fresh local macs but most times they have the Viking macs that are God knows how old.

Our local Walmart has frozen squish (not sure about other places but would think the same). Granted, it's not the blue box, but if you're in a pinch it's an option. $3.99 per lb.
