Needed some decompression time, so packed the truck after dinner.  I drove up to the Casino-ish spot and got some nice baits in the water.  Besides the surf being bigger than expected... and the wind blowing harder than I was anticipating...  the SALAD was Horrible!  I couldn't keep a bait out for more than a minute before loading up.  I was taking breaks in between hoping for a break in the kelp and grass when I found my moment at dead high tide.

The current just slowed enough and the kelp gave me two good casts without weeds when I get slammed on the Norwegian Mackerel!  lol

Out of nowhere a young couple walked up and was ready to ask what I was fishing for when I beached a beautiful 7-gill!
They freaked a little, but you should have seen the kids face when I said to grab his tail and hold the tape measure right at the tip!  He was stoked, but his girlfriend freaked!

I would say that I wish good Samaritans passing by would take a good shot, but I know my camera does not help the situation out any bit. :-[

I was stoked and fished the next 2 hours for only piles of seaweed... No matter, another one on the sand and I'm pretty stoked right now.   :)

Carey kept telling me it was cool if I wanted to fish. No way was I driving down there after happy hour.

Sounds like brutal conditions.

Sound just like what the other night was like.
Glad to see you got one out of the weed wash.

Just as things heat up again, the swell gets big and screws everything up.
