Franken Boma's Dead.... (9/25)

Well at least it's doing the same thing that all started this mess last fall. 

Met Steve at O'Dark Thirty and started to head out the inlet on a mission to Harvest some fish.  Got to the speed zone and *poof*... no power.  Back to running 5 miles per hour no matter how far I pin the throttle in gear....

Tried unloading Steve on the dock and running it, but that didn't work...  Tried a different fuel tank just because I had one available and that didn't work...

f@ck, I'm so tired of this sh!t.  It ran great last week.

Oh well, so we made the best of things and hit the bay.  Only issue was I had no small bay gear and Steve only had on small swimbait.  We gathered what we had and made due.  Saw bonito crashing the bay, but there was too much floating grass in the water to throw an iron, but we still managed some bass.



Lots of tiny tail grabbing bass out there also.



I tossed a few lures on big casts, so my baits kept getting bigger and bigger.



I ended up with 4 boated, but should have had a bunch more that I lost that unbuttoned before getting them on the boat.



Steve ended up with 11 and got the hog of the day on the old school scampi rig.  We had hardly any bay gear and made the best of what we had.



Anywho....  I have to think long and hard now what to do.  I've about exhausted my resources and patience with this motor.  It runs, but does not get up on plane with too much weight in the boat.  Perfect for our local lakes that's only 5mph, but I have some thinking to do...

Disappointing day for sure. I feel like I am the curse of the Boma.  I was truly hoping it would zoom off when you left me at the dock. Put-putting around the bay catching bass was fun, but not what either one of us had been looking forward to.

You know I'm around if you need a hand.

Maybe he can diagnose it, then you'll know what to fix

SD is a little far for me, but you can count my in for the entry fee...............

after thinking about it a little more.  Have you done aleak down test.  we just went through this with my brothers 200 evinrude.  He thought he had it running but same thing as yours.  My mechanic buddy said its probably got a bad cylinder or two.  compression checks will look ok,  but the leak down test will show the bad cylinder.  anyhow he didn't do that and we melted that thing down at the river.  BADDD

Compression was good, but totally could be that.  I'll look into that.  Thanks Chris!
