Arrived at 5:30am and still dark out.

Parked in the residential area and walked across the parking lot.

Saw 2 guys standing near a palm tree. One had a spot light while the other had his fishing line snagged on the very top and was pulling on the rod.

I approached them and asked how the hell did they do that? They mentioned that they got their drone stuck there the night before and were trying to retrieve it.

Made my way to the end of the jetty and saw a small handful of others on the way.

Got down to the first spot and slipped

Luckily I kept my Phenix M1 rod up and it didn't bang into the rocks.

Started tossing the big hammer parallel to the rocks. Got a short bite, it just nipped at it and didn't fully commit.

Worked it for some time switching up a variety of colors.

Nothing..

Switched to a 1oz green mack kroc and began fan casting.

Again no hits so I switched to the LC.

No one wanted to play so I switched back to the BH.

Continued walking and casting both sides of the jetty switching between the Kroc and BH, fan casting, working a variety of depths and retrieves.

The place was just dead.

It was now 8:30am and I had worked the prime hours. If it wasn't happening now it wasn't going to so I called it quits.

Spoke with another guy on the way in that was in the know.

He struck out as well and agreed it was dead. He mentioned it was wide open macks and bones the last few days.

I usually do decent to good here on a variety of species but today wasn't the day.

Yep, the rocks have done their share of damage to me also.  Glad you are OK and didn't bust up your rod.

Dead is an understatement.  I went out twice yesterday and had to fight for a couple of small bass over 2 trips!  Grrrr

Oh well, it has to open up here sometime soon!  Glad you got out to sample the waters though.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Wait until you get to be my age, trust me, drive up fishing is good.

Anybody have an emergency beer?
