Well, we wanted to get out and beat the rains, but I've been stuck at work for an audit so didn't know exactly when I was going to get onto the beach.  It turned out that I only had to work an extra hour and got to the beach while it was still light.

Where's My Beer joined us and conditions were not epic by any standards.  Steve and I lost our rigs on the first cast and it just seemed like it was going to be a short evening.

Dave's first cast was a test cast and as he was reeling in, snagged a leopard!  Damn it!  No Bait - Test Cast - On the board!!!!

I switched to a small weight in hopes not to catch the reef so easily and it seemed to work.  As we looked down the beach, we saw a red headlight and was going to make bets on who it was when Dave said "I bet $5 it's Binh".... Steve and I wouldn't take that bet since we could almost see his white shoes from 300 yards away.  lol

Dave busted up his reel and was out for the count.  His spool got bent from slamming it on the rocks repeatedly to try and straighten it, so he just hung out and watched the show.

After I was sure Steve and I were hung up in the reef, Dave said just wait until the shark grabs the bait and pops it out of the reef before you reel in.  I saw a small bite on my rod and walked down when Steve's rod started doing the bouncing bendo!

Definite shark and I got my hands on her tail when he finally got her in the skinny water.  Second Shark of 2017 since Dave got his first.   ;D :P

Full Moon
Incoming Tide
3'-4'
Mackerel
Female
88 inches

Finally I get bit even though I figured it was a leopard... NO MATTER, On the board!!!!

The rains then came and drove Dave off.  We hung out a little bit more as I got another bouncing bite, but missed him and couldn't just leave on that cast.

Just then, Binh walks down to confirm it was him and we chatted up while the rods soaked one more time.

The rain got harder so we packed it in.  Not too shabby of a night at all and good to see familiar peeps stalking the beach.

~~~~~Until Next Tide!
When I saw the camera flashes from down the beach, I figured you guys had landed something picture worthy. I guess I'll have to wait a little longer until after the rains to get my first shark of 2017. Not that I'm picky, but I hope it's a soup fin.  ;D
Nice to see some grinners showing up. My workload is off the chain right now keeping me off the beach.  :(
That and trying to fix up the Kitty.
