San Diego Batting Practice (2/21)

Sorry I have to type this so fast, but I have to run out and want to get a timely post up.

Squatch and I hit the bay to see if there were any bats lurking.  I brought a bass rod also and got my target.




Not soon after, Squatch's rod started screaming!  It's been a long time since I've seen a nice bat ray run.  A legit specimen!  I forgot my tape, but we conservatively called it 49".




We then had a bunch of bites but it only turned out to be Pseudo-Soupfin.



It was actually pretty slow and I forgot how quiet the bay is compared to the surf, but at least it was target acquired. I saw some signs today at the bay in another section that leads me to believe they are starting to make their way in from the inlet.

Oh well, good fishing with you Steve.  I have a cold on my birthday which sucks, but it's better than being at work!
