JKim does unbelievable work and I have a long way to go to match his fine detail, but I was ready to try my hand at some lure painting again.  I've only dabbled in it before, but it was time to mess around.

My buddy Dave loves BIG swimbaits and really wanted something special that no one or at least not many people have.

I got my hands on some of the big SPRO BBZ swimbaits and created something pretty sweet I think he is going to like.

The fins had to be shaved and dremmeled to fit before gluing and putting a bottom coat down.

Tail was a BEETCH with soft plastic.

The final clear coats were applied and it's ready to be gift wrapped for Dave.  I need to get some better photos of this because my pics are not doing it justice, but it is a great replica of a Lightning Trout!

Not as quality as a JKim painted lure, but I'm happy with my first attempt.  8)

Just waiting on Dave to get out there and give it a try.

Nobody can compare to JKim's work. Fact.

However, that looks really damn good. Very confident that it will get bit!

Nice one Tom ...

Is that the 5-peat trophy base behind the lure?  :P :P :P

It was a present for Dave's B-Day.  He keeps saying he's going to bring it out and try it, but never does.  Just tossing that lure might throw out his back.   ;D
