Hit BC Monday night, but it was blown out with some kelp, so we headed to Anderson Street. Conditions were perfect, just no fish :(

We did have an unusual occurrence, we saw what we thought was an SOS signal on a boat a couple miles offshore. It was a white strobe light, flashing 6 fast flashes, 3 slower flashes, then 6 fast flashes repeatedly. Wasn't 100% sure if it was an poor design for a party light or an actual distress signal flashing SOS back to back without a pause in-between. Didn't want somebody in possible distress to die because we couldn't be bothered to call it in, so we did.

Called 911 and they transferred to the Coast Guard. Coast Guard was cool, they sent out a chopper to check it out. Boat started to move under its own  power, but it kept the light on all the way into the harbor. Probably a party light, but better safe than sorry.
Anybody have an emergency beer?

Good on you to have called it in. Reminds me to put a flashlight that does SOS on its own on board the boat.

Pretty lame if someone made a light that was close to SOS.

Good for you Chip. People need to be proactive in situations like that. I'm sure you will be rewarded for the good deed with a shark one of these decades.  ;D
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Just an FYI , though I would have called it in anyway. But SOS is 3 short , 3 long, 3 short. But you never know if the guy flashing knows the correct code either.
