Verne or Boz, I think one of you were asking me about seeing pics of my old Nova, but my memory is taking a vacation at the moment.
Let's see some pics of your old favorite ride if you have them!

I can't believe I didn't go to jail while owning this thing, but it gave me memories that I'll never forget. My  ride all tricked out.  I also owned the Firebird Formula for a short time before selling it to my buddy.  The Bird had a Chevy 350 stuffed into it and it hauled! (Nowhere near as fast as my Nova though)

After all the modifications....

You can't catch them from your computer chair.

That is a rad Nova Tom!  8)

I miss my 2000 Jeep Cherokee!  I never should have sold it...

I miss my FJ but out grew it.  I hated having wet gear in it and not much room for gear, dogs, wife etc. was great for just me and fishing/camping/off-roading.

Keep it tight

It was me that asked Tom, very sweet ride.  What transmission?  I'll have to dig through my old photo albums (way before digital cameras).  '58 Ford Ranchero that me and my father stuffed a E500 series 410 ci Edsel engine in.  The E500 series had tri power (3 deuces) and produced 390 hp.   My parents sold it for me when Uncle Sam called me in '69.  Later in life I had a '68 Corvette with the L79/4 speed/factory leg pipe options, ended up restoring and selling it within a year.  Some time in the late 70' or early 80's Harleys became my passion and the rest is history.  Here's my first one, 1948 Pan w/a suicide shift   ;)

Damn, I used to have black hair!!!!

Super cool ride Verne!  Look at the younger you!  Wow!

Engine
396 bored .30 over.  Tarantula manifold, 1050 Holley double pumper.  BIG Competitiion Cam.  Heads bored out and polished.  Roller rockers and HD push rods/springs.

Transmission
Turbo 400 tranny with torque converter.  B&M Star shifter - Slap shift.

Rear
12 bolt posi with 4:56 gears.  Strange Axles

All work done in my parents driveway and 418 hp at the back wheels.  Probably 500+ hp just at the motor alone.  Low 12 sec car in quarter mile, but even with the big tires underneath I couldn't get them to grip well enough and those huge gears topped out my top speed a second before the end of the track.  I think I used to get 2-3 miles to the gallon on good days and had to change my spark plugs 2x a month from all the fuel it had to burn.  lol

4:56 is some awfully short legs Tom, no wonder you ran out of RPM before you ran out of track.  How fast did you spin that big block?  I may be getting old, but you can't take the "gear head" out of me   ;)

7,200 Rpm if I remember right. That was churning for my big block. Lol
