It sounds sharky or she ripped across a wire leader from a busted off rig, but in any case I feel the blame game already starting.  Too easy to blame the increasing shark populations and people in the water.  I hope they don't start saying stupid things like "Fishermen are chumming them into the shallows, it's their fault!"

Oh well, but that means we need to get some baits out in the surf while they are in abundance!   ;D

I didn't see it, but it didn't sound like something a 4-5 foot GW would do.  :-\

There were 5 to 6 GWs right in the surf in Long Beach yesterday. They looked like they were castable distance as well!
