Coworker said he'd give me some left over nightcrawlers from some creek fishing he did yesterday. Packed the lightest rod I owned, some bobbers and small hooks last night.  Found the container on my desk when I got into work. Sweet!

Lunch time rolled around and I jetted out to the creek. Had 45mins to an hour to spare. First time fishing in this area, but I see it everyday when I pick up my daughter from daycare. Parked the car and walked down to the spot he told me about and went to work. Bluegill were hungry!!

Sizes varied from about 4" to 10". The more worm I put on the hook, the bigger the bluegills got. Stopped counting at 20. Saw some turtles too. Love seeing the wildlife. Wondering if there's catfish there. I know bass is around though.

My little lunch time spot.

Sure wish I had nice little spot like that for my lunch breaks!

Pretty nice lunch spot. Don't tell Jim, he will clean it out for catfish bait.

Oh damn... I just sent Jim the text. Say bye bye to those panfish! Lol

Seriously though, great lunch session!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I resemble that remark.  ;) Well if Mike wants to hit the IV he knows where to bait up. Any carp in there Mike?

Last trip out they were all over carp and didn't care for bluegill.

We should head out to the imperial valley and fish for some flathead catfish with those bluegills.

Hit the same creek today during my lunch time. It was really muggy out. I've surprisingly never caught a large mouth bass, so, I was pretty stoked to be able scratch that off my list. Not a monster by any means, but it was fun on the trout rod.

I saw it chasing around the little bluegill, so, pinned a big 'ol nightcrawler (normally cutting them in 1/3 for the bluegill) and got him to suck down the bait. Also got a bunch of the target species.

Saw some adult and baby red eared sliders. Love seeing the wildlife. With my wife out of town for business, I have satiate my fishing cravings with the local creek.

Nice Mike!  Congrats on your firs LMB!  Now don't to all "Bill Dance" on us! LOL
I'm so jealous!  Wish I had little creek or pond for that kind of fishing!
