Went with Steve out to to the 302, then up to the 182 and lots of driving in between.  Saw big fish not willing to bite and only good bite I had turned out to be a shark who ate my last mackerel.

All in all, 93 mile round trip in the 18' flats boat.  The seas were just big enough to work me over so I was pretty sore the day after, but we saw sea turtles, BIG Rissos, Big Yellows, flying fish and lots of warm dirty water.
The inshore scene might start popping soon though.  We saw a wall of terns 400 yards wide with bait and macks everywhere!  It's been a while since I saw that type of bait biomass in the summer.

Anyway, a great day and offshore shakedown of the Curmudgeon.  That water should be cleaning up soon and I'm hoping for one last great hurrah before a big El Nino slips away for another 20 years.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I woke up sunday thinking to do a light tackle session. Got up, took ibuprofen, turned on the heating pad and went back to sleep. Felt like a truck ran over my stomach, then turned around and drove over my back.

Would have been nice if some of those fish were biters.

I don't miss days like those! Lots of reports of kelps loaded with dodos, you'll get some soon!
