Something popped up on Lake Jennings FB page saying that Saturday was a Full Moon Fishing night!  Night fishing until 10pm and you can take your own boat!
I've been dying to get out on the boat and do some night fishing the past 22 years out here, but never had the opportunity... until Saturday.

Squatch and I hit the lake around 3.  It was surprisingly quiet and not many people out fishing.  We drove around and finally set up for the evening.  Plan B was to hit another spot if fishing was slow.

We were getting bit, but somehow they were only sucking all the meat off the bones.  I kept one big rod out with a big mack head and fly lines a small chunk of mack on the smaller rod.  It was dark now, so I decided to put some jingle bells on my rod to hear the hit.  The guys on the opposite bank were getting some nice cats so we knew we were in the area.

I heard my jingle bell and BOOM!

We continued to fish and continued to CATCH fish!

It was nice relaxing fishing.

I was throwing some topwater baits as I heard some nice splashes, but never had a bass sniff my lures.  In the meantime, I was watching catfish swim by my finder.  Not in this particular spot, but it's cool to watch TV at night in the boat.

Before you know it, Our livewell was FULL with 10 cats!

We were still catching and tossing them back.  I'm not sure exactly how many was caught for the evening, but we threw quite a few back after getting our limit.

Steve and I made a bet at the beginning of the night.  Beer for first fish and beer for biggest.
I got the first and Steve got the biggest.  I did tell him that I have to put an asterik by that win... He knows why....  LOL

It was a great evening all around and it was fun being out on the lake at night.  Totally worth the effort!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I'm just glad there was no tie breaker for most fish. Then I would have been skunked. No way you would have let me throw to the only spot that produced if there was a bet on.

Really fun to be out on the lake at night. Glad we stopped talking about it and did it.

My kinda trip. I was wiped out from a business trip to the east coast. Boat is down anyhow.

Did you cut the spines off the top one or they stock them that way? A couple of the on the stringer look to have pectoral spines. Maybe born in the lake ones?
