Bonito Galore in Point Loma

Unfortunately, I can't get onto my Imgur account, so I'll just have to add the pictures later.

I had another small window to fish at a time of day that I'm not used to fishing.  I decided to bounce ball as I owned one rig, but never have correctly tried it before.  I learned a quick lesson as the mono created a lot of drag and I needed a 2# weight to barely hold bottom.  Good news is I got 3 Sand Bass and a big Sculpin!  I had one real bite, but missed it and spent the next 10 troll byes for nada.





Someone called on the radio that there was a steady bite of big bonito off Point Loma.  I couldn't take the slow action of ball bouncing for halibut and had no live bait, so shot over to PL to troll Rapalas.  Well, it worked.  My bonito feather didn't get squat, but I got 10 bonito all over the 24" fork length (well maybe one was 23").  Basically 6-8 pounds except for the smaller one which was still over 5#'s!











I Released 4 and kept 6 as it was a lot of fish.  I'll post up pics whenever I can get back on Imgur.
