Doing final pre assembly of the starboard side in the garage. Pretty crucial that all this line up.

Pretty good...

Pretty not...

Need to cut more brackets, drill them, place, and drill the wood. Then epoxy time again while the deck can go out and get painted.

Want to slap the guy that said redoing plywood would only take a few weekends.

Jim

Fish Jerk

Well to be honest Jim, I think you are doing a whole hell of a lot more than he had in mind. You sure are putting a lot of thought and planning into it.

No kidding!  Jim has been above and beyond with this project.  It's going to be a hell of a fish killer when it's all done!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Here is another enhancement.
This "bench" in the back covered the batteries and gas tank along with battery charger. I would sit the Ice chest up here but it bowed down.

So built 2 "I" beam stands for additional support that may also hold a bod holder each. Too many things to pray line up to pre drill the bench so I'm on the fence of if it is secured to the deck, do I need to secure to the bench? The only time it comes into play is heavy loads.

Pettit calls this Fire Red. I call it blood camo

Shelves spaced

Looking great Jim!  That is looking like a catfish killer more and more every day!

Filled a few excess holes in the wood with filler this weekend, broke down the side shelving after labeling it all, fit the rear deck and bench. So lots of epoxying this week.

Dropper the console to try and copy the holes and take a stab at removing the steering. No dice, I think it is permanently frozen from steering wheel to hub, mounting bolts to console, are all corroded AF. The same type is on sale at West Marine so I will measure for length and pitch the whole steering system that is in there.

Will prep the console and let a boat shop do the actual install.

Bit puzzled on the steering. The existing one is 13 foot cable but measuring 13 is short. Got to clarify that. Haven't bothered to try and yank the wheel again.

Epoxying 3 pieces today then a third Wednesday/Thursday then all non skid pieces will be sealed and ready to paint. I need to set up the tent in the back yard for those.

Crossing fingers that painting of those will be done by the end of the month. The other smaller pieces I could paint an sit in the back of the truck to cure.

spideyjg

Different pieces. Tomorrow switch these to the last one that will need Non Skid. If I hit good traffic and hit first coat of epoxy I can do the second before going to bed.

sasquatch

Going to be one sweet ride when you finish.

spideyjg

Bit of a milestone. This is the last major piece with the last coat of epoxy and once cured all 5 major pieces move outside for non skid painting starting this weekend.

Get a lot of garage space back when this happens also.

Won't be done until Friday...

Final coat is on! This is basically the whole floor and sides. Still lots to do but a lot of it I can have a boat shop do.
