Tom, look at all these species you can sandbag for your lifelist! 

Ocean Beach tidepools yesterday afternoon at low tide.  My goal was zebra perch.  Locally sourced mussels used as bait.

Not pictured: Opaleye, because I'm tired of them.

I made a valiant effort to catch some 5-6 inch long zebra perch, but opaleyes always rushed the bait before the perch could work up the courage to take a nibble.

Before I headed home I fished the pier for about 15 minutes and caught a new lifer!

Super cool fish Ben!  That is some pretty cool stuff. 
I'm not sure about micro fishing after seeing the picture of the three of you huddled around a puddle-pool.  One day I'll try it as my buddy has a real micro rod to lend to me.
