Sciatica Pain

Now, I've spent many years as a zookeeper, roofer, deckhand and everything else that could beat a body up good.  I've had all sorts of injuries from gorings to a bitten off digit by a tiger ...and even trampled by numerous animals bigger than me.  I've had my share of super painful back pain from spasms and even some sciatica pain, but NEVER have felt what I'm going through now.  It's like hot ice picks being stabbed in my lower back, thigh calf and foot.  I can barely walk and have not slept a wink in 2 days as soon as I slightly turn, the pain wakes my up in sweats!  All this time, I thought I knew what sciatica pain was, but apparently not.  I went to the Chiro today to try and help, but he even said to me I better see my primary care doctor as this is pretty severe.

I have the appointment tomorrow, but I have a feeling this is going to ruin my fishing unless he finds a quick fix for this.  Best scenario is an epidural steroid injection and some pain meds...  Oye vey....

Squatch, Sevengills, Rasta and the rest of you prehistoric souls could hopefully pick up my slack and catch some beasts to report.  I can't believe I'm going to miss a Tuesday Night fishing trip!

Damn, Tom, that sucks. Doubt there is going to be a quick fix that will have you fishing tonight, but I hope you get enough relief to catch a few zzz's.
Just a bay session anyway, not like its a surf night. I'll text anything good that comes in.

Sorry to hear that Tom. Hope it is a quick fix or at least they can figure out exactly what it is and get you fishing again asap. I've had my share of horrible back pain from when I was in the Marines and it is no fun at all. Take it easy and try to relax...

Latimeria

I'm going to be horizontal for 5 days with no physical activity or work.  Good meds should let me finally get some sleep though.

I have to visit the Specialist for my shoulder and what looks like sciatica related to a herniated disk.

Meds are kicking in... good night.   :D

Get well soon, I was horizontal for 3 days and it sucked out loud >:( Morphine was the hot ticket for relief and sleep ;)

sh!t TOM sorry to hear.

My older boy injured his back and went through Sciatica pain for 6 months straight with no relief. Had two back injections as well. What helped the most was finally getting physical therapy approved through insurance (longer process thanks to our wonderful leader) and he started doing PT. The specific stretches they taught him really helped.

Have you been to the laser spine center at all? Might just need a little trim on the ole disk ...

Sticks

I hope your getting better Tom. I'm back in town and hope to see you on the sand soon.

I'm seeing the orthopedic specialist tomorrow morning.  I'm just ready for this leg numbing pain to go away.  I haven't been to work the last 4 days, Doctor has me on bed rest to relax the spine.

How long are you out here?

Well, hopefully Sticks...  I'm not sure what I'll be able to do like this, but I'm going to see my folks this weekend as they are only in town for 6 more days.

Well, my condition has deteriorated even after getting steroids that ere supposed to help.  Almost went to the emergency room as I was locked in position with total pain all over and couldn't move a muscle without almost passing out.  Absolutely crazy amount of pain which made the bat ray, tiger bite, goring's all feel like a paper cut.

Saw the orthopedic doctors and ordered emergency spinal injections under fluoroscopy and an MRI.  Thanks to medical insurance, an emergency still means I have to wait until next week and just have to deal with the pain.

Just ranting right now as I just burned up 95% of my yearly sick time already and possibly need surgery if the shots don't help.   There is a possibility I may even be sidelined for the Bat Fight if that happens, but no reason worrying about what has not happened yet.

Sorry for the small violin play, but I just needed to get it off my chest.  I don't do it at work or home as no one likes a whiner, but this has been just hell on me for 3 weeks.  :-X

Always here to be whined at. Really hope you get squared away.

I'm planning fishmageddon when i heal up. My wife already knows that she may not see me for a month when that happens. Non-stop fishing will be here soon enough.
