Father's Day trip for me on the San Diego. Loaded up on some large sardines with a some anchovies mixed in. Metered fish to find them, visual clues were difficult due to rough seas. Once located, they were chummed up and would rush the boat. It would be bedlam in the stern then. I got 3 yellowtail on bait on my little spinning reel and 4 on the surface iron. Also got 2 big a$$ bonito, 2 large calicos and a barracuda all via the surface iron. I lost 3 yellows and bonito. No "real" pictures were taken as the action was fast and furious and the seas were rough. Didn't want to risk having my phone go overboard. Great crew and captain. Very professional and personable. A very well ran operation. No real size to the yellows, 5-12# but loads of fun. The bonito were pretty big though. I'm gonna try to use the barracuda for shark bait or at least chum.
