Usually it explodes with heat like that but other than a few bumps nothing.

Was exploring a new area and went to old reliable canals but the water levels were only running 50% or so.

Was 100 still at midnight when I left

Next week I go on a 3-Day catfish binge!  Time to dust off the cat gear as it collected dust the last month or so.  Time to knock Squatch off his top stump!

Curious to know what your rig setup is for catfish and gear too.

Most places I just fly-line 12-15 pound test on a 1/0 or 2/0 hook.  Simple and effective.  Heavy cover is different.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I take it flyling  is done from a boat so you don't need to cast it very far.

Nope.  I'm about a dozen catfish deep right now and awfully close to toppling Squatch.  Still fishing.
