Team SD WFO Bat-ing Practice 1/27/15

Arranged to meet up with Squatch at an old AO aka the obstacle course. Got to the spot lil after 440, squatch was already chumin em up and busted one off on the big rod. I get there, set up and unload the wood. As squatch is retrieving some tackle from his truck his seeker goes off and guess who's there to grab it you snooze you lose right?

Steve didn't wear the stripe long, on his 4th attempt he lands this lil scrappy Bat



Slowed down a bit til it got dark and then the real Donkeys came out to play



Squatch wouldn't be out done... not by much any way




I still got the quantity tonight as I put a 3rd Donkey of a Mud Marlin on the sand



We also put 4 or 5 of their lil BFs on the sand as well



And we each lost another Tank (or 2) shortly into the fights but both jumped and we knew what they were... jus a preview of things to come. Can u say Dialed In?

Well done guys.  You were killing me with the texts. 
Those looked like some serious contending bats and a spot that is super hit or miss and the term "Obstacle Course" is even an understatement.   

I need to get this injury healed up.  The steroids are not working and I can still barely walk... faq.... 3 weeks of sharp stinging pain down my leg and I'm ready to just cut it off.

thanks guys definitely the best night bat'in we've had in a long while as far as quality goes, tried something on a whim and knocked em out cold. Gonna give it another go tonight with Joe (jaws) Dave feel free to join if u got some time. Tom you were definitely missed, again on a Tuesday, hope ur back  gets back to 100% soon. But don't worry I'll keep the bay on lock down til the surf calms down.

@7geezie all it takes is one Bat... wouldn't be the same if all the counties didn't have all their top sticks in the mix... keep at it they'll show up sooner or later. Probably not for the bat fight though

     I gotta put in work and start looking for spots up here, I've bin ignoring the bats as of late..
    Congrats on the great catches, I'd be lying if I didn't say I feel a bit nervous for the bat fight lol

Dang, sounds like I better check with the wife and join you all.

Three bites in my first three casts. One stuck and I couldn't stop it. It wrapped me on a buoy and I think I tried the wrong way to unwrap it. I checked my drag after and nearly cut my hand trying to pull it.

Lots of bites. Some of them ran a while and dropped it. When I reeled in, the bait was almost sushi grade still.

Tom, I wish you were well enough to join us. It was the best bat night in ages.

Props to Josh, he landed the big ones, even if I had to cast out for him for one of them.
