Denny wanted to take a run at the sevens, what could I say?  Conditions were stellar, super small surf, zero grass and no wind.  Missed our first bite, got it before the sun went down.  Second one stuck, I handed my rod to Denny.  After several minutes I could see it in the wash and started out after it.  I was less than a foot from grabbing the tail and the rub leader wore through.  This is where Joe would have come in handy, I've seen him dive in after one!!  Around 7:00 my rod bowed and it was on, took less than five minutes to bring it in.  He swallowed the hook so I cut the leader and put him back, was only out of the water a couple minutes.  Denny did a one man measurement, a male just under 80".  Less than 15 minutes later we get our forth bite on Denny's rod, he had it on for less than 30 seconds and it dropped off.  Good session.............4 bites, 3 hookups, 1 lost in the wash and 1 on the sand.  This makes three sharks in three sessions, (soup, leo & seven) BETTER LUCKY THAN GOOD!!  Outgoing tide (close to the bottom) on mackerel center cut.

Bravo Verne!  Another one for the list!  I'm at work on a Sunday, so I'll hopefully get it done when I get home.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Way to go Verne! This is starting to look like a great year!

LONGCAST JOE

Thanks for the plug Verne...Sounds like VC is staying off hot this year looking at you and Chads trips.
I guess it's time to dust off my sharkin rods and get out there again with them. I've had the lighter gear stuck to my hands for the past year but I hear the big sticks calling me back....
