First time forum poster here.. I've been wanting to wait to catch my actual first before posting and we'll last night finally did me justice. I've been watching posts and learning new things for months for this page.  I was surely about to hit 10 consecutive skunks in a row if not more. Okay 10 is just really being nice. Ever since the beginning of this year practically every weekend. I had been spending more and more hours over and over again watching people catch em but I'd  go multiple nights in a row without a bite it. So with all the recent posts lately I thought maybe I'd give it a shot. Took out my brand new Daiwa Seagate 50h, got to the water around 7:30 on upcoming tide and threw on some bloody mack chunks. Conditions were ideal with a seaweed at the minimum. Swells weren't too bad until later into the night. Missed my first bite at high, hooked into my first on outgoing. Didn't fight crazy, just head shook like I've nothing felt before making me think the hook was going to pop the whole time. But Im beyond stoked to finally have got my first one. Healthy Male taping out at 65"  and swam away strong. It's about damn time...

Good for you sticking with it.

Ten skunks in a row is nothing. At 50 you might get a plaque though.

I'm on an aborted trip streak. Congrats Josh.

Got my new waders last week so may hope for tomorrow. Anybody going out? I'm going to bring my carp chumming slingshot and may shoot sardine chunks into the wash.

Pretty baitless so all store bought stuff.

There should be some peeps out there at the usual haunts. I'm hoping to get out myself.

Yeah I'll be out there tonight and tomorrow. But I bought some Norwegian Macks lastnight from Seafood City and they were fairly nice and bloody and really large. Nothing as good as fresh caught but did the trick.

5 of my last 7 fish were on them Norwegian macks. Used to hate them because they looked bloodless with their white meat. Now I think they are great and more convenient than hitting the pier.

Congrats boss!  Tour persistence paid off!

Well, I'll be getting the shark list updated in the next few days, so you'll be seeing your name on it!

Congrats again and a beautiful first Sevengill!
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
