So for the trip to Guyana after river monsters the plane into the bush has a strict 33 lb limit on baggage. Clothes, tackle everything needs to be 33 lbs or less.

Rods I got some Okuma Nomads in the heaviest size coming on in spinning and one casting. 3 piece rod but comes with 2 different tips for up to 60 lb line.

Biggest challenge will be weights. That is a puzzler. Thinking small mesh bags to fill with rocks or tubular gauze to do the same. I'm open to suggestions.

Okumas should be here Friday hopefully.

Don't put weights in your luggage. Carry them in your pockets.

You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Guyana seems like a great place to toss lures. Do what Steve suggests and bring just a few sinkers.

Who said just bring a few? If I show up for the flight, I get 33lbs of luggage. Haven't paid attention, but, I bet I have 50lbs on Jim. To me, that's 50lbs of free weight. Fill your pockets, but have a good belt.

Eric H

You can sew pockets to the inside of your pants for extra sinkers.

Depends what you're doing really. The only time I use lead is with Sputnik's from the shore.

Tuna fishing has been rocks

Kayak bais for shark is sand and aluminum claws.

Bait fishing lakes I use those plastic water filled bobbers. Unless the wind is blowing then use cotton pouches with sand/dirt.

Bite ratio goes up with no lead.
Keep it tight

Got my Simms Bounty Hunter vault the other day. An Amazon veteran said that is what he has used many a time with no troubles as checked baggage. Time to start stuffing an weighing. I will get little cotton bags for loading with rocks.

26 lbs left.

Here is their publication on what is out there. Because it is a full trip the limit is now 50 lbs.

Early March. Went to the travel nurse for anti malaria drugs and what shots I will need.

I need to get tying up rigs.

Some folks dream of long range tuna trips but for me this is that dream lifetime fishing trip.

Seems way more fun than a long range trip to me. Look forward to hearing about it.
