So Squatch and I moved "Tuesday" fishing back a day because of the higher surf on Tuesday.  It was still fairly big this day, but about a foot smaller than our usual weekday hunting trip.

We moved to a different beach in search for the fall-time grinners.  The first few beaches were loaded with Bait Thieves, but this beach had a lot less action.  It was damn nice seeing a fairly empty beach and even more stoked to see it getting dark earlier!  Steve and I fished for a lot longer than I thought we were going to be able to!

Conditions were fairly big, but manageable.  No salad in the water except for an occasional strand every 10th cast.  Warm and clean was the general gist of it.

Lot's of swiped baits, lots of lost baits to tumbling surf... but a fun quiet evening that had a hint of fall coolness in the air.

Then he pics up a decent one.  Turns out to be a beautiful Butterfly loaded with big old 50 cent piece spots all over!

As Squatch was releasing it, it puked out a pup corbina!

In any case, it was a super fun night out there.  It almost had a smell of sharks in the pounding mist from the waves.  Time to ramp things up and get some "point" worthy fish back on the Shark List!

Until next tide!

That butterfly had some cool spots. I'm counting the corbina.

I told my dad this morning (as we were light rodding) the season is coming to an end for the light rod.  Won't be too long and we'll be soaking bait.............he said "cool"
