So my uncle told me when I was a kid that when there is a red tide the fishing isn't as good and not to eat the fish because of toxins in fish during the red tide. How much of it is true?
I venture out and aside from the glow in the waves I seemed to be getting bites still. Didn't actually catch anything but at least felt the tugs.

In a lot of warm water states it's a big issue, but mostly from oxygen depletion.  I usually have always avoided the heaviest red tides, so don't know even if I would get fish to bite in them.  I'll do some poking around and see if any of my old time buddies have ever gotten sick or not from it.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
