I needed to get out and had not caught a corvina on topwater in years.  I tied up my old tried and true chartreuse super spook and hit the bay.

Goal was to fish an hour with the topwater and then try an hour with the swimmy looking for bass.

First couple of spots and all I saw were needlefish trying to grab the spook.  I saw some swimming V's, but they turned out to be mullet.

I see an area with microbait and something slashing its way through it, so grab the spook rod and first cast see a wake behind it.  A few pauses and a few quick twitches and I hear a "gulp".  I didn't even see the bite, but did a quick sweep of the rod and something was on there!  18" of topwater silver/purple!

I made multiple moves and switched up like I said I was going to and finally got on the board with a small 9" bass.  I made another move when a kayak fishermen rolled right up to me while I was casting and started casting into my zone, so I bolted for greener pastures.

Next spot and I pick up a few more bass in the 10"-11" area.

I make 1 last move before I have to leave and see micro bait everywhere!  It was a wide open bass bite.  I think I caught one every or at least every other cast until I went 5 casts in a row without a bite and packed it in to get to work.

Pretty fun way to end a session and head to work stinking like MB mud!
Work sucked as usual, but that pulled me through the day.
