Who knew pop tarts could cause so much headache?

I snagged a pack of pop tarts from my daughter's section of the pantry and headed in to work. I put the pop tarts in the toaster oven and went to sanitize and set up my computer. 5 minutes later and I start smelling smoke.
On the mad dash to the kitchen, I see my pop tarts are literally smouldering like lumps off coal and all the icing was like lava.  Then the fire alarms go off... Then security is looking for me... Then I get called from facilities .... Then people showed up due to the alarm that didn't want to be in so early.... Then there is me with a face full of shame and every single person walking in saying either "what's burning?" Or "I'm here because of burnt toast".

What a crappy way to start off the morning... I guess I'll be buying beers for the couple of people who had to come in early to make amends.

That's wild, your toaster at work must be industrial strength. But we've all been there, like when i learned you can't make cookies from cookie dough in the microwave.
