Soup Kitchen Report (4/5)

Squatch and I planned a daylight into evening assault looking for any grinners from light to night.  Conditions looked great from the big minus some really big sets rolling in, but with the small tidal change, we expected just some wave rumble in our lines and not actually any severe current involved.

Well how WRONG we could be...

RIPPING CURRENT at SLACK TIDE!  7 oz sputniks couldn't even hold the bottom.

GRASS GALORE! Water looked fairly clean, but there was a hidden mess of grass and kelp in the water that would have been fine if the ripping current didn't pile it up on our line at breakneck speeds!

We fished for about 4 hours and never got a single shot at a 10 minute soak time..  not a single bite...  nothing except a thong bikini sunning herself next to us that sort of salvaged basically a wasted trip.  We would have been out of there sooner, but had to wait the traffic out.  LOl

Well, that was it.  2022 has been not shaping up how I hoped.

It's ok 2020, and 2021 weren't the greatest years for me. We still got a fair amount of mileage on this one, fingers crossed! But it does not bode well if the masters are scratching out

Washing machine water has been pretty common this year as well as really strong current. Only nice thing was no salad in the surf for a long time but i guess that's coming to an end.
