Tuesday night. Fishing night. Checked a few spots. The latest and greatest was weedy and looked to get worse on the rising tide. Bail. Next stop, well, drive by, looked much the same, so I just kept on keepin on. Bought some gas and a bite to eat while I considered my options. I decided to check out a spot I'm trying to become familiar with and it looked weedy, but one day it will work out just right. OK, decision time. Tried a old favorite of mine from back in the days before the big game kick.

Gorgeous evening. Surf a little bigger than expected, but not much in the way of crowd, so I settled in, and waited. People finally stopped swimming as the sun went down, so I moved to the area I wanted to target. And waited.

Then I get bit. Litttle four footish leo. Feisty though.

Bait up cast out and wait. Check bait, rebait, you all know the routine. No more bites and its getting late for me. I set the ten minute timer, usually its 15, but  I had decided to mix things up. I cast to a different area and wait.

The timer didn't have a chance to go off, but the clicker did. Wow. Didn't expect that.

Really didn't expect that. Nice male, just over six feet. Tempted with bonito from the 3'+ sets.

Todays lesson, it doesn't hurt to mix it up and try something new.

Dayum squatch! Looks like you made the right decision. Nice 7 again. What's that, 3 in 7 days?

I think I'm going to employ the timer method next time I'm out.

Last nights purple sunset was very pleasing to the eye, I had to take a moment and absorb it.
