Lost a spool of mono on my reel last trip to LJ, got hung up in the rocks and had to cut the line so back to Turner's I went. Braid got put on this time so if I get snagged again hopefully the leader will break. Lost a weight at $5 a pop as well >:(  I think I should be part owner of that place by now :-[  12oz lead is almost 6 bucks, oh well it's a fun hobby  8)

Keep your leader lower break strength that the braid and you should be good.

KogaHead

If you can find old window shash weights they work real good and are usually free.

And for dropper loop fishing, i like using a Perfection Loop knot on the end for the sinker. Its breaking strength is less than the braid-to-leader knot so when you get hung up, you only lose the sinker. And when you're in a tangle, you can take the sinker and hooks off their loops and pull the line through the tangle without much issue.

Hit the bottom and reel up two cranks or lift your rod tip with the swells as not to drop yourself in the rocks.

Otherwise, it's par for the course these days.  I'm glad I bought my bulk leads when it was only $2 a pound.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.
