Nice to get out alone

Been almost 3 weeks since I've had a chance to fish alone (or even be alone), that in and of itself was good for me.  It was a morning of ups and downs, only had about 90 minutes to fish this stretch before the tide pushed me out.  Missed one take and hung two, BUT I ALSO LOST A MONSTER.  Hit close in and just bull dogged me a few seconds then took off on a 20 foot or so run.  Got it into about 12" of water and it started thrashing and came off.  It broke the rear hook on my LC, I have no doubt it would have put me in that all elusive 30"+ club. As always, fish were released

Heartbreaker!  If anyone deserved the 30"+ fish it's you Verne!
Still, nice fish for a short session and glad to see you getting your feet wet!

I haven't fished with me, myself or I for a long time, seem like that's when all the excitement happens :o Nice solo trip 8)

Man Verne, I'm so happy you got some alone time out on the sand, but so bummed you lost the big one.  Busted hooks are even worse than busted lines since you know all of your knots were spot on...

On the lighter side, nice flatty!  Not many people get legals off the beach and you're quite good at it.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Last heart breaker fish for Koga had was that 12" yellowfin croaker that busted his $1.99 eagle claw line up in LA.
