I'm out of oak and paying $7.99 a small bundle at the 7-11 is not going to happen.  I spent Saturday morning running up with Brian (Land Owner), Shaun and Forest to load up on wood.

f@cking cold as hell.  It was 34 in Santee and 28 up in Cuyamaca.

Empty

Full...

Also Ful...

There was always reminders of how cold it was at every stop.

We loaded up and were stoked at the haul.

Got home and filled the rack!

A few of the logs were pretty damn big...

That was it.  Spent the rest of the day catching up with some of the older neighbors and checking in on them.  Also decided it was a great idea to drink Bourbon as I was prepping the fish for the brine..  Well, that left me today to just smoke the fish as it was the only strength I had in me for entire day.  I did put a nice dent in my recliner though.  hahaha

Log splitter is the way to go if you want to make quick work of it and save what is left of your shoulders. I bought one a few years back, my days of swinging an axe  or a maul are over. Nice looking load of oak  8)

I have a maul and an axe, but harbor freight has an electric log splitter for $300 which seems very appropriate if I decide to make a few more wood runs!

Good on ya Tom, I don't miss the firewood days.  Sold my truck, trailer and wood splitter a few years back.  Kind of digging this thermostat on the wall thing   :)

I totally do too, but I still love a good fire every now and then.   8)

In AZ we have gas and electricity to heat our homes, you should try it.
