Yellow pu$$y Cat (12/30)

I went to the puddles this afternoon and was hoping to get in on their local trout plant.  Problem was the lake was packed and my favorite spot was bumper to bumper with people.

I tried an area that only had one person fishing, thus I didn't expect much.  I would have been happy using the brand new 2# rod on a whisker trout. 

I kept seeing bird photgraphers look like they were taking pictures of me, then heard the rumble of feathers by something big overhead.  Friggand Bald Eagle directly overhead!  I didn't want to startle him and get a big turd raining down on me...



Well, after one bite in 3 hours, I was ready to start packing up when my strike indicator went off!  The new 2# trout rod did great, but I knew it must have been a whisker trout.  The water was murky from the rain and run-off, but then something pink and yellow emerged from the murky water!



I thought it was my first albino, but after looking into the eyes, realized the eyes were black and there was no real signs of albinism.  Designer catfish?  It was beautiful, but I let her go to hopefully bring me some good luck for 2024.



Anyway, it was a great looking fish despite it lack of size.  Looks like I might have to try again tomorrow.

Already breaded. Just deep fry til golden brown.

Last fish of 2023 is a "Yellow" fish.  First fish of 2024 is a really big "yellow" fish.
