Hey guys,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.
I'm somewhat new to saltwater fishing, but have been fishing freshwater since I can remember.  I started reading SCSF and posting there since I started a new job in Carpinteria back in June.  I've been fishing my lunch breaks for perch and stuff a lot, but am dying to tie into some big game.  I picked up a long rod awhile back and was hoping to get started for SNBF, but had a flight cancelled and didn't make it home in time.  Oh well maybe next year.
Anyway, I just moved to Santa Paula from Lancaster and I think there's a few of you that are up here in the VC area or at least fish up here occasionally.  If any of you don't mind me tagging along I'd love to meet up and learn what I can about catching sharks and rays.  Been reading everything I can on here, it's a great forum.  Thanks for all the info you all have shared!
Hope to meet some of you on the sand one day.

Too bad you missed the bat fight, but hopefully somebody up there will ask you to tag along. Or, just go for it solo, post up some pics and put up the story.

Right on Chad. There are definitely some good dudes up there that could help you out. Can't wait to see what you catch!   8)
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Thanks guys!
Thanks to all the great info you guys provide, I think I've got a couple spots scoped out to at least get out and start soaking bait.
I'll definitely post up if I get lucky  8)

Hey man, sorry I am not as prompt with PMs as I should be. You could've tagged along on Saturday but it would've been a bust. If you wanna practice your big game, Ventura harbor is always chock filled with bat rays and the occasional trophy leopard. As far as the toothy kind any stretch of beach from Emma Wood to Carp Estuary is good, patience is required for them though, sometimes almost a saintly level of it. Next time I go out I'll shoot you a PM of where we're going.

No worries about last weekend, I ended up getting too busy anyway.
Thanks, I'd love to meet y'all out there sometime.
I'm planning on getting out one or two nights next week hopefully  :)

I have had many good nights at the estuary.
Over at Santa clause lane last summer, there was so many big shovels in the skinny, I sight fished one with a sand crab.

Check your pm Adam
