I have a guy making lobster traps that will be branded Prehistoric Soul.  We're working on price points, but they will be built better/more rugged and less expensive than the Promar heavy traps.

I'll share the pics when they come in.

What diameter? I have Promar and Aztec heavies in 36". A 32" or even 30" heavy would be sweet on the yak.  ;D

Latimeria

It's a 32" heavy since we wanted to make them kayak friendly.  Even put in rings on the bottom hoop for easy attachment of the bait cages or tubes.

Correction, he made 34's and said they worked great. Got limits for 2 in no time.
Said all are going to be made to order, so if you want 30", he'll make them to order. Turn around would generally be a week. He's going up on an elk hunt soon, but I told him I would keep him posted.

Here's a frame along with a completed one.  My buddy made his and now making me mine.  I'll keep the pictures coming soon as I get them.

Looks really well built! A heavy gauge wire cage with rings for a hinge would be a nice option for the bait storage similar to to the crab loops traps the NorCal guys use from shore.
