RIP My dear friend Verne.
You were a great friend and fishing companion. You will be sorely missed by all that knew you.

I was going to make an official post, since Verne's wife Theresa txted me just a little while ago. Verne passed peacefully at 5:30pm today. He suffered lung failure then heart failure. Theresa said he ended up oxygen deprived for over 20 minutes and he had been in the hospital on life support since Wednesday before finally passing this evening.

The world is a little worse off today. Verne was a classy guy RIP.

I'm going to write up a memorial for Verne and Sticky it.  He was a great guy and has done a lot for us.  Hell, I know he's been awfully good to me from all the annual fish drop off, to the SNBF, to just being a good friend to everyone on PS (and beyond).

Such terrible news.
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

Damn sucks to hear. R.I.P. Verne. Will miss the reports and stories. Sudden halibut population boom coming soon...

Wow. Sad to hear about this. Last I heard he was ready for more DIY boat maintenance, thought he was built like a tank for his age. I'll miss him.

Rest in peace Verne.

Only met him once but it was always a pleasure to read his reports and comments.
Especially his sign off.
Respect.
