Hey guys, had woke up extra early for once and hit the lagoon by 5:30am. Bought a new cane pole at Walmart for $11, bought a couple loafs of bread aswell.
As I got there i seen opaleyes cruising the shore and proceeded to get about 30 or so for my 2 hr session, with maybe 10 being good size. Also farmed a couple garibaldi. Along with a short halie I didn't measure. Plus a nice spottie at 17". Those came on live 3" opaleye worked in slowly. The opaleye came on flyline bread with a 16 gold treble.  They were a blast to catch on the cane pole btw. Thanks for reading

Very  cool.  Halibut make great Striper bait out east and better Lingcod bait out here.  LOL
You can't catch them from your computer chair.

I wish we had those opaleyes for bait yesterday!  We couldn't fin the macks anywhere.  Well, there was a small school of them, but there were 50 boats on top of them trying to jig them up!

Yeah, they are a very hardy bait, and really easy to catch on bread
