Headed out this morning and had an hour to spare before work. Decided to hit the Surf in the dark. Conditions were pretty sweet. No wind, flat water and not to much surge. There was a little salad on a few casts. Had the Ghost Green LC 110 pinned on and was searching for my target.

I have caught one of these in the goon before on the LC, but this is a first for me in the surf. When the fish hit the lure, it really slammed it hard. I guess maybe she was protecting her nest? Or was it because they like veggies, and the color of my lure? It was pretty dark out.  Heard these fish have black meat and taste terrible so back in she went, Pretty decent fight on the snag.

Over 15 inches, felt like it was over 3 pounds. Here's the pics.

Taped shot.

Didn't get my target today, but I do like the skunk buster.

Thanks for reading and good luck out there.
